I'm too damned tired to think up an entertaining title. I've had very little sleep since last night, and thank god for ibuprofen. I am just anxiously awaiting bedtime... Kole has the day off from school tomorrow and we've got a free pass to go bowling. As well, we've got enough points to go see a movie for free. Now, what to see? She is dying to see Scooby-Doo: Back In Action. I would rather not, but sometimes you've got to endure plenty as a parent. Oh, good news. I've got another inter...

Yep... 34. I'm not going to do much pondering over the previous year and years past, but will instead be grateful for the good things in life. Good friends, amazing family and we are all healthy and happy. I will celebrate with my sister with dinner, good conversation and dancing to Retro 80's music. It's going to be a great night. I got a new purse, and a new book by J.G. Ballard, plus a mountain of homemade cards from the girls. Oh, and I will be seeing some very good friends who will ...

Another hard night on the court. With a team that has been playing together for almost 2 years, and a member's subscription to the Raptor's channel leading to trying out new plays, and holding weekly drills concentrating on passing and shooting skills our team is going full-throttle. My own personal excercise plan has included 3x weekly walk-run-walks and nightly stretch sessions so it was only a matter of time before I started to see some improvement. My game is better, definitely. My p...

I am really pumped to see The Village. It's release date (in the States and presumably Canada) is July 30th, 2004. The next four months are going to go verrrry slowwwwwly until then. M. Night Shyamalan can't disappoint. Most of his movies have been wildly sucessful, and all because of his amazing writing. Don't get me wrong; actors like Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix in Signs(2002), and Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson in Unbreakable(2000) were all great. And his roles played by young a...

Before I even get started writing about sequels, does anyone really remember The Goonies? Could you and did you ever watch it over and over again? If you've answered 'yes' then this next question is for you in mind. Did you see LOTR:The Return of The King? Do you remember the orc ? The one who stands still when the huge boulder is coming down at the orc army and he commands the others to stay where they are, and nearly gets smushed by it? Didn't he bear a striking resembalance to Sloth if he...

I don't eat meat. Well, not very often at least. We stick to mostly fish, chicken and tofu, but tonight, for our birthday dinner we had the biggest serving of steak imaginable. That, a potato, a side of sauteed mushrooms and a bit of salad and slice of birthday cake... I've undone all the good work of exercise and basketball that I managed to get in last week all in one meal. But hey... it was good. I think, in regards to my last blog, my mood has changed yet again. I think all I needed...

I haven't posted a blog for a long time. (Well, it's been since Thursday, but in JoeUser time it's been almost a year.) I've been floating around a bit, responding to a few things here and there, but my heart hasn't been in it. My mood has been very unstable. Not unstable in the 'I'm off to purchase a semi-automatic, see you by the highway' kind of unstable, just a lot of ups and downs. I'm making life hard for my family, for my daughter, and especially for myself. Why? Beats the hell out ...

After spending an insane amount of time reading, I've come to the conclusion that I've picked the cream of the crop to blog with. Joeuser has been a great place to interact, even with it's little ups and downs that go with a massively different community. Now, I am not going to name names, but after reading some comments that others have left, on long-ago written posts that have suddenly become active again, I can't believe I didn't take note earlier. I have a handful (well, two, actually.) ...

I might have mentioned the fact that in my little town we only have two radio stations to choose from. Wait. That's not entirely correct, we also pull in CBC Radio One, a country station, and a Christian Rock station, but since I'm not particularly fond of any of these channels, I'll say that the 2 options that I am left with is a Classic Rock station and a Top 40 station. JayZ and Beyonce's Crazy in Love song is downright addictive. I can't not help but start dancing and singing along, ...

I've never had a comment of mine removed from a post, until today. Oh well. It must have hit a nerve enough for it to be removed, but in the grand scope of things, I suppose it doesn't really matter anyway. Not too much has been going on today... except that I feel like a Super Mommy! I cleaned the kitchen and it damn near sparkles. The place still smells like pine-sol...mmmmmm.... I helped my daughter with her homework...she's a genius! I fed her a well-balanced meal, and she's going i...

"I take a 3 1/2 but an 8 feels so good." -Olive Oyl to Popeye- referring to her size in roller skates. Some of the best lines come from cartoons. And then, there's some that are direct from life. I love being an auntie. In some ways, it's better than being a Mommy because you can spoil your sibling's child rotten and give them back when they start to act up. Not like with your own child. Then, you just have to deal. Skylar, my niece, is 3. She's a sweet little girl, and I think the th...

I’ve been in this weird, cloudy mood all day. Not a “storm’s a brewin’” kinda mood... more like a lazy, fluffy, not-on-solid-ground kind of mood. Perhaps it’s just that I’ve been slightly exhausted after spending a night out playing pool, enjoying good conversation, and consuming pints of beer at my favorite hangout. I’m definitely lacking in the sleep department, but things just keep ticking upstairs... annoying when I realize what I really need to do is just shut my eyes before my whole bus...

Okay, before we begin, most of this is just generality. I mean, I know not every guy would even act this way, and not every girl sees her comments as verbal jabs that way... but I think there are far more consistencies with both viewpoints. Girls use words as weapons. Guys get back by sleeping with their friends' girlfriends. My sister read this book once, and said that the common occurence in relationship forming between girls and between boys within each gender is that girls act out...

You know, I'd like to say that I know everything... but I don't. Some of the questions that I will list aren't really things that I have an answer to, because I'm either not experienced enough, am not that concerned about (enough to call a help line) or really serious about, but have wondered about... Here goes: At what age can you allow your kid to be home alone at? For instance, my girl is six. There is a store directly across from my house. She could see it if she looks out the windo...
