I hope you get your writing project up and running too. I would love to write a musical one day. Believe it or not, after recently watching, for the nth time, Mad Max - Beyond Thunder Dome, I've not been able to get the idea out of my head of it being a great stage musical. Crazy, huh?

I hope you and Kole are both enjoying your summer. Our winter has been very mild so far. While this is good for me as I don't like cold weather, it is a clear indication of changing weather patterns.

We run our A/C 24/7 too. Oh, we hardly ever turn on the heater in the winter, too.

I used to have that Mulder poster, too.

I still haven't seen Transformers though it seems it has been on the pay channels every day for the last 2 months.

Hi Nicky, nice to read you! I hear ya about running the AC 24/7! It gets hot here too and my apt is usually so humid! My hubby and I play the he's hot, turns it on, I'm cold, turns it off game! I know that doesn't help the electric bill!

Usually, I just peoplewatch. Watch others try to hook up, listen in on final conversations of the evening.

People watching used to be one of my fave things to do. Too bad I don't get to do it as often.

I used to have a job where every 4 weeks you would change shifts from days to nights. I loved it but again I didn't have a daughter that I missed or missed me. Hope the 4 weeks goes by quick.

At first, I wondered what you'd be listening to, riding around in the wee hours. I must admit I was a little surprised when you mentioned Cash and CCR (not that there is anything even slightly wrong with these choices).

I find I have to listen to my back catalog of Queens of the Stoneage, Fu Manchu and Deftones while I'm exercising. It seems to be the only music I can listen to that actually makes me work out harder. I'm such a boy

I do hope the night shift means more in the bank for you. That way you and Kole can have some extra treats for not seeing so much of each other.

For the most part alleys get a bad wrap. Dark alleys. Back alley deals. Abortions in the back alley. Has anyone ever seen that one? Alley cats.

You getting a little break from work in the alley is the only good thing I can think of.

Points? Who needs points? I find that life goes a lot smoother if you forget about trying to figure out the point all the time. I think the point to the whole thing is there isn't a point. There! When you see it like that it certainly answers a lot of questions doesn't it?

We are on a roller coaster weather wise. Fortunately, the lows are above freezing now, but having a 35 degree morning after an 80 degree day really sucks.

I have been working with a guy who lives in Denver (he is out here on a special project). He is going home to snow. Now that would really suck!

I've always paid the extra for insurance because while I try to take the best care possible with my possessions, I'm also a klutz sometimes. I'd rather pay and not have to worry than not pay and have to pay again and again.

I keep it nice and civil by speaking slowly and in a low tone of voice. It's exactly like calming a child, but exactly. And like a child, some people react accordingly to it. Whiners, screamers, and those that just clue in to the futileness of further complaint. It's pretty damn hard to ignore your own stupidity, when someone else is there to point it out, matter-of-factly.

I don't know why this made me laugh, but it did. I guess cause these kinds of customers are a dime a dozen, unfortunately.

I guess I'm one of those who enjoy the idea of a winter wonderland as I've only ever seen snow three times in my life (the last time in the last 6 months when I actually stayed for a few days in the snow).

Don't waste your time on those silly boys, Nic. Go for the man who intrigues you. It might take a little longer to get him but it will be worth it.
