I rarely consider all of my senses at one time. Yeah, I realize I need cooling down in the heat of anger, literally. I absolutely detest the listening to a radio that you can barely hear. I can't bear the smell of turkey baking, and I hate touching the bottom of a murky lake with a bare foot, so much so, that I wear Teva's while I swim. But the good stuff is just bliss. Especially when they come with the right memories. Today, the smell of chlorine is strong in my apartment. Kole and I...
I've been blogging since December 24th, 2003. I've been blogging at JoeUser the longest, but I also have another account elsewhere, that is much more satisfying to rant at on a personal level, but isn't as much fun because of the lack of interaction amongst bloggers there. Or rather, I have yet to step forward and introduce myself, and so far, don't really anticipate doing so anytime in the near future. But there's things that I have learned at both blogsites that I'll share, simply because ...
Dear TB Queen (and everyone else who is 'just feeling a bit under the weather'), Okay, I realize that almost everyone is in agreement that winter is over, and that the time for winter illness is over, too. For those poor sacks who are still hacking and coughing, and puking, and whatever else comes with your illness... stay the hell away from me or better yet, just STAY HOME!!! This means YOU!!! I'm at the university library and there's a whole lotta coughing going on here. I am this c...
Phantom posted a couple of tests yesterday, one determining your state of mental health, and the other predicting the state of your afterlife. Link It looks like I am pretty sane yet doomed to a deep level of hell. Curse my violent tendencies and wanton sexual lifestyle. Now that I know, though, I am pretty free to give into any spur-of-the-moment cravings. Any other level of hell looks just as bad. I was reading another person's blog, where the guy got mistaken for a girl while he w...
Polyamory is in the spotlight lately, in my hometown. Maybe it's because everybody who has been trying to write something 'different' for end-of-term final papers has also decided to resubmit them in the school newspaper and the local papers have caught wind of it. Either way, it's making for some interesting reading and provoking thought. I'm pretty non-judgemental on topics concerning sex and religion. As far as how it relates to my life directly, I chose to experience situations ba...
It's funny to have a song that can completely change your past dark mood. I'm at my University library which I absolutely love, all because of their high speed computers. And the possibility to listen to music while I blog. Everyone knows that I am an 80's girl, and there is an 80's channel that I love to listen to when I am here. And, after feeling so damned angry for the last couple of days, I can feel it just sliding away, all because I am listening to the song 'You Spin Me Round (...
When you are on Joeuser a lot, you begin to follow other people's train of thought, whether you really want to or not. It's hard to ignore certain bloggers, because sometimes they respond to blogs that are of interest to you as well. There's only so much you can do... you can scroll as quickly as possible if you don't want to read their stuff, or avoid topics of discussion that you're sure they're interested as well. This poses a problem: it's like avoiding a store because one person w...
I've had a hate-on all day. I've been angry, annoyed, upset and generally just pissed off with everything and everyone. Why? Who knows? You'd think I'd be in a better mood because it's so sunny out, and the wind is smelling of spring and promise. There's so much to be happy about: my brother's coming down for the holidays, and it's the first time I've seen him since Christmas. I'm going to go visiting relatives on Sunday, and I've got a copy of the final Matrix movie to watch. But no.......
For quite some time now, I've been basically dreaming the same thing over and over. Usually I'm at some party or performance, I'm requested to appear and perform, and as I'm about to, I realize that I have no idea what I am doing. Sometimes I am supposed to be playing the piano or singing a song. Or dancing with a whole lot of other dancers. Or I am supposed to give a speech. I end up faking my way through it all, am supposed to wait for the grand finale and... it's over. I never really ...

I've heard from a number of people, both male and female (but let's just use the male perspective as an example to keep things simple) that to be called a 'nice' guy is the kiss of death. At face value, there is nothing erotic about the image of a 'nice guy'. It's not a sexy label, it's hardly indusive for fantasy-building images. In fact, for those who are considered nice, they often complain of being taken advantage of, of being overlooked, but seem resigned to the classification anyway....
It's no big surprise that I've been crushing on someone. I've mentioned it in passing, but really, held no hope that anything would come of it. I've had my time of whirlwind romances, or so I thought. The man that I've been falling for is so not my normal pursuit. I used to go for the bad guys... the arrogant, the cocky, the hard-to-pin-down. And then, somewhere between dreams and reality, I chose someone who was not my norm. He irons his own shirts. He seemed responsible with his...
You've got to hand it to the late Jim Hensen: he was a miraculous man in the making of children's entertainment. Kole's had a Muppet marathon going for the past couple of days. We've gone from watching old Muppet Show episodes, to The Great Muppet Caper, and are now currently watching The Muppet Movie. This is a great flick! Hillarious! I was talking to my mother once about kids movies that really made me laugh, and discussed The Emperor's New Groove and Shrek as two movies that were enjoyab...
Well, I knew that I write a whole helluva lot, but 100? 100 blogs of talking about my kid, my lovelife (or lack thereof), diet and health concerns, describing party nights, trying to talk politics, and a lot of movie and music discussions. And within the posting of 100 blogs, I've met almost a hundred people who blog here. Some stay, some end up leaving, but a lot of you have been around just as long as I have, or longer! Congrats to all of us. We've done a lot of writing, don't you th...
We’ve seen it before. Since I’ve been blogging here at Joeuser, I’ve seen more than a handful of people leave. Yeah, there are a lot of people who start blogs up, realize it’s not for them, and then just fade into the sunset. And there are others who feel that it’s time for the grand finale. The big production of goodbye . The funny thing about writing this article, is that I’ve been meaning to write it for some time now, and it just happens to coincide with another blogger ‘friend’ ...
