Toronto is the new Hollywood, they say, and it's easy to see the side affects. Samuel L Jackson, Hayden Christensen and Jamie Bell are filming a sci-fi movie in my little town, and it's got the whole city in a tizzy. Well, it's actually got some citizens moaning about loss of parking spaces in the downtown core, the rerouting of traffic to alternate sidestreets and a slight flurry of people flocking for a look-see. But really, they may as well be back in Hollywood because, for the most pa...

Not having television at home, you'd better believe that any show that I get involved in has to be amazing. I first started watching "Lost" when the Season One DVD came out, because I had heard only good things about it up until that point. I was pretty impressed with the cast and crew credits: JJ Abrams can put out his grocery list, and I'd queue up to see what it was like. Matthew Fox is a phenomenal actor; several seasons of "Party of Five" convinced me, and on more than one oc...

After the debut of the trailer for the new "Bridget Jones:The Edge of Reason" movie, the powers-that-be decided to release it a week earlier after recieving good response from the audience. I'm wanting to see it as well, but have noted how many other people are placing a lot of importance on Renee Zewelleger's weight gain for the role of Bridget. Who could forget Duran Duran? If you were a female, particularly over the age of 12 during the early 80's, you knew the name of each Taylor, and you probably thought that Simon was the hottest. Hell, a lot of guys thought that he was the hottest one, too. I saw an ad for their new album Astronaut due out sometime this month. It includes all original artists, which means that Roger has either run out of money and needs some more, or is getting over his distaste for the press. Or whatever....

I am really pumped to see The Village. It's release date (in the States and presumably Canada) is July 30th, 2004. The next four months are going to go verrrry slowwwwwly until then. M. Night Shyamalan can't disappoint. Most of his movies have been wildly sucessful, and all because of his amazing writing. Don't get me wrong; actors like Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix in Signs(2002), and Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson in Unbreakable(2000) were all great. And his roles played by young a...
