Before I even get started writing about sequels, does anyone really remember The Goonies? Could you and did you ever watch it over and over again? If you've answered 'yes' then this next question is for you in mind. Did you see LOTR:The Return of The King? Do you remember the orc ? The one who stands still when the huge boulder is coming down at the orc army and he commands the others to stay where they are, and nearly gets smushed by it? Didn't he bear a striking resembalance to Sloth if he...

Well, since All-Star Survivor has started airing, I've managed to snag invites to people's places to catch the show. I've invited myself to my parents' place, and even got them to babysit tonight, so that I could go out for a pint (all right, more than a pint) with friends, later. I am looking forward to the discussion that is sure to arise... and the placing of bets about who will place top 4, and who will win. Me? I'm hoping that Colby wins... there's not much hope for Ethan, and I am sur...

C.H.U.D. This movie was awful, but the title rocked. The letters in the the title stood for Cannibalistic Humaniod Underground Dwellers. Cheesy latex-faced monsters lived beneath the city; creating distruction and mayhem. Great idea, poor storytelling and effects. It had little going for it, but I stand by my first sentence. Popeye The worst thing about the movie is that it was just too damned long. With Robin Williams in the title role, and Shelley Duvall possessing an eerily likel...

I'm lucky there is no such thing as Late Fee Police, or I'd be on the Most Wanted List, for sure. However, I still owe Blockbuster a fair amount of money, so I've been avoiding that place for the last little while. I owe Ted's Video a shitload of money but they still let me rent there. (Probably because I spend at least 20 bucks a month there, and have been doing so for the past year or so. And that's just a guestimate, there are times when I know that I've spent over 20 bucks in one week. Any...

I've mentioned before that I don't get TV at home. It's been a personal decision, based mostly on the idea that I hated being addicted to useless, mind-numbing TV shows; thinking that these programs added some relevant meaning to my life. So, I bowed out. It's been almost a year since I had access at home, and the only shows I really miss are That 70's Show, and old episodes of Drew Carey. I don't miss getting the news on a day to day basis; I've found that newspapers and internet provide the ne...

Yes, today is the day. Lots of beer, cheers, groans and moans are in order for today. There will be a lot of die-hard fans for both programs, but what I am really dying to watch is Survivor. As posted earlier in I Want My TV, Please. I don't have access to TV at home. If I feel like watching, I might go to my parents' place, catch a game at the local pub, or visit my sister. None of these options are available to me tonight. So, I'm really disappointed not to be able to see the series opener bu...

I'm not saying that Ben Affleck is the best actor in the world. Not at all. He's been in a handful of movies that I have seen, and while he hasn't stood out in any spectacular way, I have realized that he was there. I teared up in Pearl Harbour, but that's probably because of Josh, and bawled in Good Will Hunting because of Matt, but I wasn't even cheering because of Ben's heroics in Armegeddon, but because it was finally over. But nothing has been his fault or to his credit. No,my problem with...

Okay, okay. I know it was my own choice. I turned off the cable and just said no to television. It'll be a year without TV come February, and I know I can make it but sometimes it really is too hard to handle. Sure, I watch it sometimes; at my parents' place when I visit, or at my sister's place when we are able to stand each other. However, watching it occasionally and having it at your fingertips in the comfort of your own home are two completely different things. I've gone without TV before. ...

I admit it. I am one of those people who are hard to buy for at Christmas, if you dare to stray from the list . Yeah, every year we are requested to make out a list of things that we want/need for Christmas. I must say, that I am extremely grateful to have gotten everything that I wished for, aside from a Christmas morning visit to the local emergency room (that's another story). You know, I am really glad to have spent this time with my family, and yes, I am concerned about world peace, the ...

When I was young, one of the best things about Christmas was catching the Christmas specials. Charlie Brown's Christmas... you know, the one with the sad, sorry looking tree that ended up as the star of the show. Frosty The Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer... that was hi-tec back then. What does my kid have to look forward to? A hell of a lot of specials, but among so many of them, nothing worth waiting for. Rugrat's Christmas. Barbie's Christmas. Barney Christmas. Blue's Clues Christm...
