It's funny to have a song that can completely change your past dark mood.

I'm at my University library which I absolutely love, all because of their high speed computers. And the possibility to listen to music while I blog. Everyone knows that I am an 80's girl, and there is an 80's channel that I love to listen to when I am here. And, after feeling so damned angry for the last couple of days, I can feel it just sliding away, all because I am listening to the song 'You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)' by Dead Or Alive. Great song that is now inspiring a greater mood than before.

The power of music is something. Just a note or two of remembered music can bring up such memories.

I remember when my brother billeted a rugby member from Wales at our place when I was in Grade 9. He stayed for two weeks. During the two weeks, everybody (girls mostly) oohed and aahed over the athletic boys with the cute accents and I was one of them. But being a minor niner, we were overlooked for the more-developed seniors. Except, during the going-away dance, our rugby billet, stepped away from the crowd, crossed the gymnasium and headed in my direction where I was standing with the others. My best friend saw him coming and before I could say anything, she asked him to dance with her. But in a moment that garnered pure respect and satisfaction from me, he said, "Sorry, I believe this dance is for Nicole, if she'll have me." The moment was magic, and the song was Prince's Purple Rain. The memory will remain forever, I am sure.

I could go on and on about music that brings to mind special moments, and events in my life, but I'm not going to. I might just go home and plug in Purple Rain instead.
