just some thoughts from today
Sometimes I wonder if a feature like Instant Messaging or an email function would be of benefit here at JoeUser. You know, some posts end up being pretty personal and I'd like the option to respond in a more personal way accordingly. Then, I reconsider, knowing that these options are available outside of this site. Thing is, I try to keep JoeUser away from my life outside of the Net... although it is getting more difficult to do.
Does anyone have times, maybe while sitting in traffic, or waiting in line at the bank where an idea springs to mind, and you just want to get back home to blog about it? I'm touching on Dan's addiction to JoeUser article a bit here, but bear with me. Because, it's more than just about writing something down and letting it collect in your Articles file. It's about thinking about a joke for Imajinit's bad joke contest, wondering what more can be said in response to the Gay Marraige debate, or wondering what time it is in Australia and if Macky or Muggaz has had a chance to post lately?
It's thinking about what good poetry I could write that won't get me booted from JeremyG's Anti-Prose blog group, or wishing I knew more about digital photography so I could show some more pictures of me and my girl. It's walking into the coffee shop in the morning and reading a headline about the little girl and mother reunited and thinking about sending JillUser the link so she could know more about it. And it's hoping that all the newcomers who make those first steps to post a response don't find a way to not post, for fear of offending people, being ignored, or just not knowing how to work all the buttons and gadgets in this system.
Yeah, I'm thinking way too much about this stuff. But it sure beats being addicted to SpiderSolitaire, Lines, or Freecell, and not interacting with anyone, the way it was before.
Happy days and nights, everyone.
