when bad things happen to good blogs

The Urban-Faery recently posted an interesting article concerning The Vagina Monologues, written by Eve Ensler. The celebration of vaginas is not pornographic, not lesbian, and certainly not worth over 80 related posts that literally has nothing to do with The Vagina Monologues at all.

Instead, Urban-Faery's blog spiralled down into inanity simply because of one other's particular and uninformed comments. Even admitting that he hadn't even read the play (just a review) he continued to spew babble... just because he could.

This is where that black-listing feature would come in handy. I'm not against Pete at all, just the useless comments thrown out in this topic. If you don't have a valid point... why bother posting? Leave that for your own blog... the only thing the comments did for me in regards to the topic, was throw me off of the whole thing. I might have said that the problem that I have with Eve Ensler's play is that it allows no form of addition or alteration. Yes, she has included a wide audience to address, but it would be nice to be able to include a more geographical perspective alongside the other pieces. Instead, the posting by Urban-Faery left me not even wanting to contribute to her blog, simply because it stopped being about the play, but more about the antics between she, her friends, and Pete. That's the shame here, not vaginas.
