classic quote from campus...

I was up at the university this morning, trying to get some business taken care of in regards to my application to Teacher's College. Instead of being able to access pertinent websites online, I was informed that my password was either revoked or temporarily unavailable. True to luck, it was revoked, but I wasn't surprised. I haven't been a student at the university for some time, and was using their computers all this time just by chance. Most alumni get their password yanked after the first summer of being away from school.

So, while my sister was at her two hour class, I spent the time wandering around. I went to the library and happened across the sci-fi collection. I settled down to a Piers Anthony novel and the time went by likethat. I met up with my sister finally, and she told me about a conversation she had with a new classmate. The girl that she was talking had a new Powerbook and had typed out the notes from the previous week. Rae had asked to borrow her starter and offered to pay her for the use of it. She had mentioned that she hadn't yet found all her books at the second hand stores. The girl smiled and said the her father had taken her out that first week and bought all her books for her, stating "That's what Daddies are for!"

We giggled like crazy, picturing new girl in her single dorm room, with a pink VW parked outside in the Blue lots. We shook our heads, remembering that mindset, and those times.
