there's more to your name than you might know
While doing a price search for car parts, I happened to spend a lot of time testing out the search engine at Google. I started off doing what I set out to do, and of course wound up following some strange tangent...
I guess what prompted me to type in NickyG in Google's search engine, was an article written by JeremyG about referrals.
I was curious where Google would lead me if I typed in my own name. Here's a brief list of what I found:
-teenager in Chicago who likes to snowboard and play in a rock band
-a woman on a low-carb diet internet support group
-someone who works for the US. Government
-a guy in his late 30's who is 'group Master' of a remote control airplane site
-an Iowa State University student and a Stanford student
-a variety of gamers
-an 'adventurous' Ivy Leaguer posting a Personals ad
-a writer at http://www.literotica.com
I guess I didn't pick out the most anonymous username. Yet, it's interesting to know that there are so many other people out there with the same username as me, but are who are all very different from each other.
I am never going to snowboard (too clutzy to even consider the possible outcomes), I've finished my schooling and am not big into gaming. I think low-carb diets are evil, as are most governments. I don't think I'd sign up to be 'group Master' (at least for a remote control airplanes group), and I think that describing myself as 'adventurous' on a personals website is just asking for trouble. I might try my hand at literotica, though, but I guess I'm going to have to come up with a different username first....
But something that won't give me away.
