little perks of parenthood

1. Unexpected moments of humour. You really never know what they are going to say. Or do. Or care if they are in public or not when they do or say it.

2. Movie choices. Would you have seen Spy Kids 1, 2, and 3 on your own?

3. When facing them with the comment, 'I do everything for you, I cook, clean, buy the groceries, etc., the least you can do is get me my shoes from the closet', chances are, they will do it.

4. You get to buy snack foods like twinkies, and blame it on your kid's weekly special treat.

5. It's fun to do arts and crafts with the kids. Coloring books are once more a big part of your life.

6. Part of your daily activities may require you to have to decide between going tobogganing, ice skating, or building a snowman. Suddenly outdoor exercise isn't just about speedwalking, it's actually fun.

7. Who doesn't like hearing 'You're the best Mommy in the whole, wide, world!"

8. Cartoons. I stopped watching before junior high. I'm starting to like them all over again.

9. It's easy to convince a young kid that cleaning is fun. Hell, my kid is singing the Mr. Clean themesong right now, wiping down walls with a Magic Eraser while I surf the net!

10. You learn a whole new kind of love. Loving a partner is a lot different than loving and being loved back by your baby.

I totally relate to all of those. I own more Disney/animated movies than any other genre. I get to play with legos and play-doh. Nothing gets you through a tough day like hearing a little one singing or laughing. I totally melt ever time I see my 2 boys hug each other.
