I'm headed for the beach.

I know I bitch endlessly about the weather here, but it has been awful. It is now July 11, 2004 and this will be my first trip to the beach this year. I used to spend at least 5 days a week there last summer, but it's just been so fucking cold out this year, that I haven't had the opportunity to do so.

So, I've got my sunglasses, a bottle of water, my swim suit and a pair of sandals and a towel. And that's it. I hate going to the beach with my sister because for the past 45 minutes, she's been packing the car. What for? We'll be in the water! We don't need no beach toys, blankets, and folding chairs! I wonder who's going to help her? Because it sure ain't going to be me. I plan on staying in the water the second we get there, until the last second before we leave.

Look out hotties, because here I come! So, been there, done that. I love the beach. I love the smell of lingering suntan lotion in the air, the sound of screams of delight once swimmers hit the water, and the vision of lovely young bodies in flattering swimsuits. The screams of kids who are being hustled to leave doesn't bother me, and neither do the sights of angry, red burns on the shoulderblades of pale-skinned idiots who spend the day without sun protection. For once, I have nothing to complain about. Nothing to whine about, because my day was perfect. My swimsuit from last year still fit, which means that I really haven't been gaining any weight. I didn't get suckered into carrying everything like I did last year, because I started off the season with a very firm comment " If anybody is bringing their own chairs, toys, or other things; that 's great. Just remember that you have to carry your own stuff." It actually worked like a charm. I've got the start of a pretty good tan. And I was able to have a nap in the afternoon. No complaints at all. But to wish that this day could actually be a little longer.

I've been wondering where you are and I'm so glad you get a day at the beach! I'm also very envious, I love the sound of waves and looking for little treasures on the beach. I hope you had tons of fun!!!

HI Nic..Lucky you...That is the one thing I miss not living in Florida is the beaches. Although we have a million lakes here it isn't the same. I hope you get more beach days, soon!
