I had a weird moment a little while ago.

I was cruising some other people's blogs that I often check out, and noticed another blogger's post for the day, and I was stunned. For a bit.

See, I know who this person is. We're not friends; we've barely exchanged 2 words, actually, and the fact that I know he has a blog is only because his friend has a blog that I read regularly. I've got it set up that I read hers, and sometimes cruise her friends list, where his is.

Anyhow. I was walking down the street today, (it's Canada Day, and I had to work during the holiday, because my company is American based. Yes, I'm stealing your jobs, but that's a whole other blog) and happened to look up as a low-rider passed by blaring a song from Moulin Rouge. Thought it was a peculiar music choice, but carried on. Looked to cross the street and saw aforementioned blogger nearby the coffee shop, and kept on walking.

His blog this evening mentioned the fact that he was happy to celebrate Canada, if only for the fact that it wasn't part of the US yet. And he had a Moulin Rouge song in his head.

Same here.

And I stress the word yet as well.

Weird, but not entirely.

Welcome to the U.S. I'd like to see Canada become the 51st state--weird?

I don't think it's weird... I don't think there's too much of a difference between the two, but I'd hate to see it become official. I don't think that either country is better than the other, but there are definite advantages living either here or there. I'd hate to lose our health care system, but that's not too far off anyway. I'd hate to have to learn all the states and capital cities of each, though. Now that would be a pain.

Not many Americans currently know these so I don't know why you would have to   I also think our health care system has a far worse rep than it deserves as a friend moving here from the UK recently discovered.  All that aside, I don't see a merge ever happening so I don't think you have anything to fear.

I know a few bloggers here from real life.  I don't find it weird but it certainly keeps me guarded about what I devulge in my blogs.
