around here...

There's a funny smell around here, and I don't mean at Joeuser. I'm not at home, so thankfully, that's not it either. I'm at the University, and that's where my nose gets knocked off-balance anyway.

I've got allergies. I've had 'em all my life, and they are not apt to go away either. There's a list of things, but thankfully, I haven't had any noticable reactions in awhile. Usually, the first two weeks of spring I get itchy eyes, and feel some minor cold-like symptoms happening. But, then it's gone. Same thing happens the first couple of weeks of winter, and I have no idea why, either.

But at the library, I die. My eyes get all buggy (for the first few minutes inside), my nose starts running and I sneeze like crazy. I put myself through this mini-torture at least three times a week, because I love the super hi-speed service more than I hate the allergy symptoms. I've just adapted by carrying kleenex with me and waiting it out.

Having allergies though, I don't tend to notice many different smells once I am inside the library. Maybe a bit of a musty odor because of the books, but that is all that I can pinpoint.

There's something foul in Denmark, though. and you know how you want to be able to identify exactly what it is, but at the same time, simply do not want to take in that identifying sniff?

I've checked out my kid, and she doesn't smell any worse than she usually does , and I've gotten her to check me out too, and apparently, I'm good to go. So, what is it? We've moved from one area to another, and I can still occasionally get a whiff of it, but then I consciously try harder to ignore it.

This is what happens when blogging addiction overrides good sense: I'm just plugging my nose, and continuing on.
