For the first time in over 3 years, I'm not Top 40 here on Joeuser.
Of course, it's not a surprise, considering how infrequent my visits have become. I rarely get a chance to blog, firstly, because I'm just too damned busy at work to even log on, and secondly, because I'm Internet-free at home. Now, I had been that way for more than 2 years, so it was never a big deal, but it's the steady hours that were getting me down. No more early morning drop-ins at my sister's place while she was at work and me before shift. Instead, my life is for at least 75% of the month on a rigid schedule. I get enough time to drop off the kids, go to work, get picked up, go home, make dinner, watch a movie or read a bit of a book, and fall asleep. Add in occasional chores like laundry, dishes, homework and all that other unpleasant but mundane facts of life, and there you got it: not as much time to surf idly.
I'll come clean though, I've been visiting Facebook, which is my new thing. I like it, because it's very local for me. I can link up to my bar cronies to find out what's on tap, hahaha. I don't know if it's a Canadian thing, or if it's big like Myspace, because I am generally just linked up to people in my neighbourhood.
Unlike Joeuser, there isn't much of a creative vibe going on there. It's simply a basic platform to connect with friends. I guess they have a Notes thingy, that could be used as a blogging tool, but I've never seen it used that way. Another con is that you can't link music. There's no customization either. But again, I can check on who's gonna be out and about this weekend and meet up.
I'm not going to be a stranger around here, anymore though. Come this Saturday, I will be online from my own home. The cable guy should be in on Saturday, and then I'll have weeks and weeks of catching up to do.
I've missed a lot of people around here, that's no surprise. I've been skulking around, but I'm sure I've missed out on scandals, high quality writing, and just some plain old silly shit.
Looking forward to it all....
