It's been seven days since I've posted an article, so in JU terms, it's been like a year away from the crazy ole nut house.
You'd think that I'd have a lot to write, but really, the only thing that I've been doing these days is trying to keep afloat at my place of employment. You'd think that I have never stepped foot in the office, or ever accessed the files on the computer, but with everyone gone (my higher up is on vacation, the Production Manager is in New York, and the Director is currently trying to spend most days off-site to do her own research, and the Financial Advisor now has an office of her own), I'm left flailing around on my own, trying not to sink. The pros of the situation is that I've been given time to learn on my own, without a lot of eyes looking over my shoulders. The cons include not knowing where everything is immediately, and I waste much time trying to locate things that others wouldn't blink at if they were here. The other con is ATBA: All. The. Bloody. Acronyms.! Enough said about that.
I've been staying late at work each night, and am looking forward to a leave early today because of it. My weekend includes a Money Money concert, and trying to keep warm in the -24C temperatures. (-11F) That calls for Blockbuster trips, pizza delivery, and not much else.
I'm pissed at the Canadian Postal Service. For more than a week, I've been getting mail for another building's address, and mine is nowhere to be found. Apparently, my work check should have been sent on Tuesday, so I'm seriously concerned that it's gone missing. Though, it is the Canadian Postal Service. Mailed items never get sent, and special deliveries can take weeks instead of the promised 24 hours.
I'm not going make one damned remark about the current state of JU, except that I probably would have made the effort to write more frequently, if I wasn't so sick of it all. It's easy to avoid, but it also means I refrain from everything else while trying to do so.
