Late yesterday afternoon, Kole informed me that it was a PA day today. News to me, and also slightly suspicious since she's been Little Miss Truant for most of the week.* However, according to her school journal, it is indeed a PA day, so my plans of doing absolutely nothing are now changed to doing absolutely nothing with child.

But of course, as any parent knows, there is no way that I'll actually be able to do absolutely nothing. No, in fact, we've got an afternoon of tobogganing, followed by hot chocolate, art projects, and a late game of Spongebob Monopoly planned. I raise my hands in defeat, but I am going to go to the Beer Store this afternoon in preparation for the game night. Maybe I'll pick up a half-litre of chocolate milk for Kole. No big plans for the weekend... unless something spectacular happens (like a bag of money dropping from above), I'm just staying in and doing little homebody things.

I've found the secret to sucess. A coffee at Starbucks to keep things revving. I actually did all my dishes last night, including organizing kitchen cupboards, and the Tuperware cabinet. And though I've never once tried it, I'm sure coffee from Starbucks is close kin to coke. (Not the real thing, either.)

*Kole's missed 3 days of school this week already, by using the flu that's going around in our family for her own need to not be in school. She psyches me out by saying she's headachy, is quiet at home for the first coupla hours, and then, by about 2pm is suddenly better. She thinks she's putting one past me, but she's not, really. I understand about not wanting to go school for unmentionable reasons. Word has it, that Kole's had an embarassing event take place at school. I'm still waiting to find out exactly what happened.

I do hope the truant thing is only a phase and she gets over whatever embarassment she suffered at school. Hope you both have a great weekend.

Ah yes Starbucks! Don't let them suck you in woman. What they don't tell you is while the first cup gets you cleaning cabinets...after a few weeks, you need two cups, and after a month or so you walk in with dark rings under your eyes, and those snappy workers smirk and point to the back room.

The back room is where all the hard core Starbucks go...for the iv. Leave your wallet at the door and hold out your arm please.

Hope your girly tells you what happened....and you share it with a few thousand of your closest friends....buwhahahahaha...(meaning JU)
