quiet weekend.

I took a weekend off and stepped away from the computer... and I didn't look back once.

I went out on Friday night, with a twenty dollar bill in hand, and didn't make it home until after 6:30 am. Fun times, all right. I went out with a girl whom I like a lot, but unfortunately, only have about a 2 hour tolerance for. I don't know if this is a bad thing, but really, after about 2 hours, I feel like I've listened enough, and simply cannot work up much more interest. She talks ninety miles a minute, so I'm convinced that our 2 hour conversation really equals out to be a week-long discussion. Anybody would glaze at that.

We started off at my martini bar, and later headed to my other favorite. I lost her there in the crowd, and while I did say that I was leaving after I finished my cigarette, she never came back inside. I waited by the front door for about 10 minutes, and finally said fuck it, and left. Of course, an hour later she showed back up at my martini bar again, so all was not lost. I sat and chatted with my other friends, and we've agreed that Friday night really isn't the best night for these all-nighters. Apparently, Saturday is going to be the new pink.

I've got a friend that I adore. He always says his mind, no matter what the fallout might be. I'm impressed that he stands up for his beliefs, and find that I grow to respect him more and more. It's funny, because I've known him for quite some time. When I first met him, a couple of years ago, I didn't care for him at all. I found it hard to get to know him. I'm glad that I took that extra step, because he's pretty important to me now. It's strange that I did, though. Under most circumstances, I probably would not have even bothered.

The weekend was spent almost solidly in bed. We got a donation of about 20 videocasettes, with a variety of genres. The weather cooperated as it was cold, windy and just a dreary day. Kole and I spent the day drinking icewater and watching movies: Dirty Dancing, Finding Neverland, Curious George, Monster-in-Law, Little Miss Sunshine. Sunday saw us do a bit of running around, but by about 2 pm, we were back in bed again, watching Disney movies while the wind picked up.

Our whole family is sick, so today I spent the morning with my mother, father, sister and neice. Bad weather combined with people in various stages of sickness. (knock wood, I'm perfectly healthy) My sister remarked that with the snow coming down hard and heavy, it felt weird to not have Kole home. She was the only one well enough to go to school. She must've jinxed her, as I got a phone call from her school, and had to go back out to pick her up after lunch.

The first second I saw her, she had a grin on her face, and bright rosy cheeks. I said quite loudly, "You'd better be sick!" and the corners of her mouth turned down immediately. She went for a nap at my parents house. Everyone else decided to nap as well. Now everyone is up, and I can hear the chatter upstairs around the kitchen table.

She sounds fine to me, now.

Nothing like a snow weekend in my book!  But then mine are a couple of years apart.  Not weeks!

Hope all are well.  Remember!  The power of the mind to overcome bugs!
