music of the night

I bought myself a second hand record player at a yard sale, and since then, I've been spinning some pretty cool music. I also had the opportunity to pick up three cardboard boxes full of random music, and it's an interesting haul. A lot of it is pure shite. I can't believe that somebody in the 50's and 60's shelled out good money for the syrrupy, gooey sounds, that I balk at labelling music. And, there's a lot of people out there who adored Glen Miller. But, I guess, it's the same as listening to Tiffany and Debbie Gibson, right?

Kole's just starting to get into it. Music, I mean. She's pretty pliable at this age, so I've got her listening to some garage punk, and 70's classics. I'm surprised at her 80's knowledge, but shouldn't be, really. After all, I know every single word Barry Manilow wrote, why shouldn't she know every Duran Duran lyric, too?

She wants to do more than just listen, though. And I'm pretty proud of that! Everybody rock and roll....

My father, being a big Glen Miller fan, would completely disagree, but I know what you're saying. The funny thing is, I know exactly who Tiffany and Debbie Gibson are, which is even scarier to me

OH. MY. LORDY! And here you are giving people a hard time about Glen Miller I think it takes a lot of guts to admit this. The more you say, the more I admire you, Nicky. But Barry Manilow... gaaaghhh (I hope you don't take this too seriously )
